Street Outreach

Trained Covenant House Florida outreach counselors travel by foot, bicycle and van to areas where street kids congregate, offering:

• An introduction to Covenant House Florida through informal dialogue that affirms each youth;
• Nonperishable food, clothing, hygiene supplies and first aid;
• Counseling about issues that affect the youth’s current situation, e.g. sexual abuse/exploitation, sexually transmitted disease, substance abuse, and health/injury risk factors;
• HIV testing
• A pocket-size card describing Covenant House Florida’s array of services including a map and clear directions; and
• Referrals to safe shelter, medical care or other services, if requested.
