Family Reunification

The goal of the family counseling project is to facilitate successful family reunification for residents whose home situations indication no reunification barriers such as incest, founded abuse or incarceration. Services include:

• Extensive assessment process with youth and family to develop a treatment plan which emphasizes individual and family strengths;
• Individual counseling sessions with youth, parents, and/or other family members to improve family functioning and identify and resolve the crisis which led to the runaway behavior or resulted in the youth being thrown for the home;
• Family counseling sessions with youths, parents and/or other family members to facilitate improved communications and strengthen family relationships;
• Group sessions with youths to improve social and emotional functioning, including anger management and conflict resolution skill building; and
• Supportive aftercare following family reunification.
